I know I'm just asking for further indecision here but out of curiosity, if you were going to read a piece of fiction/short story/book about a closely involved group of people, wherein the interlinking relationships and personal interactions are more immediately significant than any of the context in which they happen (and if you're never going to ( Read more... )

My gut feeling would be "c)" - because either of the first two options would encourage the reader to consider all other characters in relation to the protagonist rather in relation to each other

That's one of the first fantasy books I ever read :) I must rescue it from home one of these days and remind myself of why it made me kind of mental at the time :x

B can be very good, but it's not every author who can make multiple distinct protagonist/narrators without having some of them feel like their sections are less fun than the others'.

I think my response would be "it depends on how the people in the story want to tell it" because I'm like that, but for myself I'm quite a fan of third-person-omniscient (ie, non-specific narrator who can see inside everyone's heads) even though I know some people consider that lazy writing. >.> I like first-person as well, but if the story's about character relationships, then I'd want multiple narrators, I think, or I'd feel like I hadn't seen everything right.

As for past or present tense, I like both, but future tense would probably give me a headache. I don't know, I don't think I've ever seen it done... O_O
