Stayed home today because Emily was sick. I love staying home with him but it is an incredibly hard job. I guess partially because I was trying to get in 4 hours of work from home at the same time (and 4 hours tomorrow to keep up). I have incredible respect for stay-at-home moms, nannies, teachers, daycare workers, etc ( Read more... )

I love that you are in Texas. It gives me hope that the south is not going to hell in a handbasket!

I can't believe Julien is already doing so much! Where does the time go???

Though some would argue it, Texas isn't all bad. There are some genuinely great people/places/history here. It is an exciting place to live and is kind of like a whole country in itself. Even most of us stark-raving liberals are proud of our Texas heritage (not the George Bush kind, but the don't mess with Texas kind).

And Austin is even better. If you look at a political map of Texas, you'll see some big blue blobs in the border towns and a tiny speck of blue in the very middle. That speck is Austin. Hopefully this next election will be different, but hey, at least our vote will finally count for something in this upcoming primary. For the first time ever I feel like Iam actually choosing the president.

If I was going to move to Texas, it would be to Austin. I hear nothing but good things about Austin.

But I'm not likely to move to Texas. I'm a born and bred New Englander, though I do like Arizona a lot and would consider moving there if I ever really got sick of New England winters. (We just got *another* foot of snow, so I'm thinking...) But that's not going to happen since both my and DH's families are here in MA. Too bad!

My DH was born in Cambridge and grew up in various places around Boston. Also did a 4 or 5 year stint in NYC. He agrees that Austin is the best place to live ever ;-)

Yeah, I am the organizer of everything but Del is the cooker so it makes meal/shopping kind of disjointed. I would happily eat peanutbutter sandwitches for every meal because I am like 5 years old, but that is no good either. We found this site that you can order local organic food on the interweb and are going to try it. We're also headed to the farmers market this morning. We have the resources, just not the organization. Yet.

this is going to sound like a stupid question, but what is the motivation behind the "no mammals" rule?

did you decide yet who to vote for? (um, not that i'm asking who you're voting for or anything.... even though i do want to know!!!) - what about del?

We are both still undecided - he's about 80% for the candidate that I am about 80% against. Odd since we are both very close in political views (with the exception of gun control ( ... )
