"Promise me, Reborn." She tells him suddenly, but since there is no urgency in her gentle voice, the hitman continues to fake sleep below the fedora. Luce, even though knowing of his false slumber, shakes a narrow shoulder lightly. "Reborn?" She calls out again. A murmured disgruntled sound from the male brings a sweet smile to the woman's face. She shakes him again, always doing so gently, waiting for him to sit up finally before continuing. With a heavy sigh, Reborn lifts the black fedora up, brow furrowed irritably- even more so once black gems spot that smile.

"What is it?" He asks, tone annoyed and mildly curious as to why she would want him to promise anything. Those blue eyes sparkle brightly as they gaze into black hues, reading too much; more than the hitman would like.

"Well?" Again, annoyed and slowly losing interest.

"Promise me that you will always be there. That I will see you again," that smile stays in place the entire time Luce looks to the other. How such foreboding words could be delivered so lightly, with such nonchalance is beyond Reborn as he just stares. Falling victim to such pure and kind eyes that the Italian male finds himself tipping the fedora down enough to shadow his gaze.

"Do you plan on going somewhere Luce?" Giving her the first, well second, question that came to mind. The woman merely shakes her head, telling him that she's not really going anywhere and Reborn, senses no lies. So, he agrees, repeating his promise and Luce, smiles brightly a soft content sigh flows past pink lips as she leans back. And there they remain, the infamous hitman sprawled comfortably on a plush leather sofa while the pregnant Arcobaleno resumes her knitting.

Years pass and Luce has been claimed missing. Reborn cursing and doing his best to look for her, but coming up empty. She wouldn't just leave, not without hinting at it, without lying to him all those years ago...

Another takes her place, a temporary stand in- Aria, first and only child to the true Sky Arcobaleno. She doesn't mind carrying the burden, claiming it was always her destiny to and Reborn merely wonders.

More years roll on by and there is a new wielder of the orange pacifier. One with the mirror image to the first Sky. She smiles like her mother has taught her to, like her grandmother had shown her daughter. "Smile with you're heart." Words passed down like a beautiful mantra and that is what Uni does now. She smiles with her heart, knows everything will be alright soon and like her grandmother, the young princess asks the Sun to remember his promise.

"What do you mean?" The male replies. A habit since her grandmother was around, Reborn's fingers move up to tug at his curled sideburns.

"That you will always be here and that I will see you again." The words flow from the young teenager's lips, a moment of deja vu passes through the Italian male and all he can do is nod. Knowing all to well what those words meant now, as opposed to what he thought then. He doesn't stop her, no matter how much he wants to scream for her to stop, to think of another way... His instincts, those the hitman relies on best, force him to stay still, quiet and most of all calm.

To watch the leader of the Arcobalenos, sacrifice her life, for the resurrection of the Family is painful, heart stopping, but Reborn doesn't tear his eyes away. Watching everything intently, understanding of when Uni is unable to pull through with it and hardly surprised by Gamma stepping in. A shower of flames, mixing together for the sake of his comrades and before another moment can pass, they disappear; leaving quivering pacifiers in their place.

Reborn keeps his promise to Luce, to Uni, staying with them and waiting for her to be reborn alongside the other fallen.
