Some of you may have seen this post in indigocub 's LJ or Facebook recently and wondered "WTF is he talking about?"  Well, allow me to explain.

Wednesday, January 14, 2009, the day that saddened me with the loss of Ricardo Montalban, was also the night I gave birth to a slightly premature baby boy.  Chris (my husband, for those unfamiliar readers) and I were ( Read more... )

I know this was a hard decision to face and to make. I'll offer my congratulations again. I know it's scary scary scary, but remember what I told you before. Things have a way of working out the way they are suppsoed to, even when they don't make sense or seem to suck in moment, later when we look back we can usually see why things needed to happen how and when they did ( ... )

We'll take it a step at a time right now, especially since we need to figure out how we are going to get Lexi to her classes now, since the little one should not be out and about for a while.

Chris is off this week, so he may be able to handle it for this week, but we need to figure out the rest of it. Since he's off this week, it may also be the best time to have visitors, so just give a call if you want to stop over for a bit.

Also: Chris' income would have no effect on your daughter's eligibility for assistance. I don't know if you're already aware of that. Step-parent income does not count against the step-child, so long as the household (computer) screens of the case are completed correctly. Only your income would count for her. Also with a larger number of persons in household now due to baby (and whether daughter re-joins now or future) you may be eligible for benefits now. Also, pregnancy medicaid counts the baby as a hh member, so you may have previously been eligible. If you do choose to apply now, you can request Retro Medical coverage which can go back up to 3 months, so long as you provide all medical bills and paystubs for those months ( ... )

Yeah, I'll probably want to chat with you at some point this coming week or so about assistance. We have already called the WIC office and been told we do qualify for him, but have to wait until after the holiday to make the appointment.

I applied for Medicaid while at Miami Valley Hospital, so my application my fall across your desk! Hopefully, we can get approved. I don't work, so that changes things a bit.

I'll try to find you to chat sometime soon.

Thanks!

It means no return to WoW for a good long while, but I think this will be worth it.

Oh my goodness! Wow... that's a big surprise! I'm so excited for you, and I'll be living in Fairborn soon, so if I can help in any way- please ask. I'd love to be of whatever assistance I can provide. I know how hard it is with a new baby, no money, and not sure what to do about it all... but mine managed to survive, thrive, and turn into decent human beings. Best advice I have about Chrysania(I hope I spelled that right) is to present him as "our" baby and include her in it. Let her hold him, love him, and hate him a little as needed. They will fight, because they are siblings. But they will love each other. You're such a kindhearted person your children can't help but be that way too.
Anyway... would love to meet the little guy, and if there's anything you need- HOLLER. Congratulations, and best hopes and wishes for your family hon.

Thanks!

This week may be the best time for visitors, as Chris has manipulated his vacation time so he can get a paid week off. Just holler if you are free.
