Raising My Head From the Sand?

Apr 05, 2011 20:08

Its been 2 years since I posted here...I didn't realize that it had been such a long time!  Of course, the inbox of my e-mail address can bear testament to that, with its 26,000+ e-mails in it!  I finally decided yesterday that it was high time I cleaned it out, so I decided to come back to LJ as well.  We'll see how it goes ( Read more... )

I'm still here. It's Tyy by the way, in case you don't remember me. From DoTH, though when I log on (which isn't often because of school right now) It's as SHP.
My family relocated to southern Maine because my husband was transfered to the shipyard here, and I know all about being lonely and isolated.
I'm on FB too, if you want that information. I'll be happy to give it to you!

Hey, Tyy, and yes, I remember you! My husband had his mage on Bronzebeard for a while and even tried to get into SHP, but they were full at the time. We ended up going from Staghelm to Garrosh, where we found Hydraulix from No Disassemble (he remade the guild over there), and then on to Earthen Ring, where we currently call home on the Alliance side.

Sounds like Maine doesn't agree with you too much...where did you relocate to Maine from? Perhaps you have a bit of homesickness?

We should try to fight the lonely monster together...e-mail discussions are a wonderful thing! I use yahoo mail, so my e-mail address would be duskrider3740@yahoo.com, if you want to e-mail me and chat.

Well, I'm originally a Florida girl, but my hubby is a Navy guy, and we were stationed in Ga for about 4 years after I married him. We transfered here in January of 08, and boy do I wanna go home! We get new orders to a submarine (ugh) in Jan of '13 and are hoping to go south again. If he gets Ga, then we'll live in Fl, and he'll commute since it's just over the border, and then he'll have 2 years left till he retires. He's been in almost 17 years now (17 in May) and he can retire at 20. Believe you me, we cannot wait! I have a TON of homesickness ( ... )

I'm still here. Nice to see you back on LJ. As you probably know, I'm no longer living in Fairborn. I abandoned my house there after desperately trying to sell it for over 4 years. I'm living in Dayton again, back in South Park near University of Dayton.

I was released from my position in the call center when I picked up an illness there that was probably Mono, but which the doc never got around to testing me for since I eventually started to recover on my own. Now I'm doing Mary Kay full time. Still learning how to make it work, but gradually I'm getting things moving.

Since I am my own boss now, that's freed me up to spend a lot more time with my music and writing. I haven't really cleared my head enough to write yet. Not much... but my music is coming back. I play almost every Tuesday at Dublin Pub after my meeting and then on Friday evenings at Expressions.

I had heard that you had moved out of Fairborn, but I didn't know exactly where. I'm (slowly!)slogging through my inbox of e-mails from the past two years...

Sorry to hear that you lost your job at the call center. Hopefully, Mary Kay will work out for you!

Perhaps I can hear your music sometime!

I'm kind of feeling that being fired from that place was for the best. It was starting to become very stressful. For some reason the Call Center Manager likes to keep people shook up, so she constantly changes things so that people are always off balance. For instance, lets them get settled into their own areas, sitting in the same desks each day, with the agents from a particular supervisor sitting in a group, and then decides that NO she doesn't want that, she wants everyone to crush in over by the windows, filling up the seats in order. Never mind that it then takes longer for everyone to find a working computer, because they are no longer sitting where they KNOW the computer works... That's just one example. But they're things that have nothing to do with our production, and everything to do with her being a control freak that wants everyone in awe and fear of her by shaking things up as often as she can to 'keep everyone in their place' so to speak. Some people are not as upset but that. They just roll with it, but For me, part ( ... )

I can see where being scrambled up like that would be very stressful! Glad you're out of there and in a less stressful situation!
