For most of you that don’t know, I’ve recently returned to Christianity.  With that return, I’ve noticed that my reading tastes have once again changed, as I am reading more Christian Fiction/Romance than I used to.  I’ve even challenged myself to read 100 of these types of books by end of year and I just got started in May!

I’ve also signed up on ( Read more... )

Nice to see you on LiveJournal, of course I remember you saying you planned to start blogging some of your book reviews. These both sound like interesting stories. A little out of my typical genre. Not because they are considered "Christian" but because they are real world instead of fantasy. Even as a Gaian, I have enjoyed plenty of Christian allegory in my fantasy, or even straight Christian Fantasy, both published and in a couple of my writing critique groups ( ... )

I actually own a copy of the entire Narnia series in one book. I read some of them when I was in elementary school (got halfway through The Silver Chair). The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe was on the list for a book report, and once I read that one, I just kept going until my mom made me quit to do other classics for extra credit! I've never gotten around to finishing the rest of them. However, I now have motivation to do so! A couple from my church has organized a summer book club for the Narnia stories. We're meeting on every other Wednesday at Expressions at 7:00pm. If you are interested, I am sure it would not be a problem for you to join us! The next meeting is on the 20th and we are discussing Prince Caspian ( ... )

I don't know about specific Piers Anthony stories. I just have this inclination to believe that some of his work is allegorical as well. Sorry I can't give a specific title.

Michael and I have a public practice session from 3-6 pm on Wednesdays, and while the weather holds, we usually go somewhere and ride bikes afterwards for a couple of hours. Later on in the year I might be interested in staying on a while and playing with books.
