The weather was epic whilst driving... even while waiting at the lights I had to put the wipers into EPIC speed!

man, i wish everything had EPIC setting. like, "shit, my cookies are baking too slowly, better set them on EPIC" or "i'm really really cold, better put the heater on EPIC"

I found it more terrifying than exciting - I was at our old place cleaning, and I swear to God lightning hit Riccarton High. I was looking out the window when it hit, and it was definitely *very* nearby. (And then their fire alarm went off and was still going *two freaking hours* later, but that's another story.)

wow! i heard on the news there was something like 1200 strikes in canterbury, so it's not surprising some hit nearby, but wow!
