Tis the season
1994 came very close to being the year without a Christmas for my family. That September, a fire had destroyed our home and almost took my sister's life. This year has felt like some twisted, insane endurance test that everyone I know was destined to lose. I've never been so tickled to see a year come to an end as I am this one. Yay! NaNoWriMo's over! Boo, NaNoWriMo's over!
Yes, another November has come and gone. This one seemed to go by a lot faster than any of the previous ones. Even the early ones where I gave up halfway through the month. Don't know what contributed to the shortness feeling. I'm left with 54,190 words of a novel that is going to end up...with a lot more words than that. It feels like there's ( Read more... ) -

I've been awake for an hour and a half, and I've spent the last half hour trying to get back to sleep. My brain, though, doesn't want to shut down. Too much up there running around in circles. Doesn't help that the cat just leapt off a shelf and landed in my gut.
It would've been better if I'd never gotten out of bed in the first place tonight. -
