You're right. On pretty much all accounts, you're right.
And the thing is, if Atheists were to change their 'methods', so to speak, I probably wouldn't like them any more than I like evangelistic Christians.
And I probably should have put the same disclaimer at the top of my rant as you did - I know a great number of Christians that I love and adore, mainly because they don't preach to me. They don't try to convert me. They accept me as I am, and I accept them and their beliefs.
It's the hypocrites and faux-Christians who get me, and they're usually the most vocal.
