Iraq, al-Qaeda, Dick Clarke and when Bush Comes to Shove

Jun 20, 2004 00:26

I have just finished reading a book by Dick Clarke, who was a senior counterterrorism advisor to Bush Senior, Clinton and Bush Junior, as well as working in the Regan administration. In these book, "Against All Enemies", Clarke outlines the anti-terrorism policies (which is a bit ironic in the US when one talks about Regan and the School of the Read more... )

Paul Wolfowitz is/was part of the 'Project for the New American Century' (a bunch of psychos) who have been wanting this war since Clinton. (even Bush Sr. was wary (sp?) of these guys)

It's amazing that anyone would believe the Iraq/Qaeda links bush kept bringing up over and over and over again. considering that bin laden and hussain don't like each other. but i guess if you keep coming on television and telling people there are links it starts to become embedded in your subconscious.

kind of how bush always seemed to mention "9/11" and "Iraq" in the same sentance... to form that subconsious connection.

ugh. this whole thing make me ill.

yeah, a couple of polls last year showed that something like 70% of Americans thought that Iraq was involved in the 9/11 attacks, and the reason was purely that Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld kept mentioning Iraq in mot speeches thay made about terrorism or 9/11. Like you say, it formed that subconsious.

The letter you reference above is further evidence that Bush intended to attack Iraq long before he ever came to office or the 9/11 attacks.
