By the time I went to school (age 6) I could already read. Not because the nuns at kindergarten had taught me, but because I was a pain in the ass and asked my poor long suffering older sister 'what letter is this?' whenever she tried to read something.
So I had to pretend that I couldn't read for aaaaages at school because of course the other kids were behind.
Have you considered home schooling? I hear it's all the rage in Oklahoma...

That's what I was trying to do, and because she's a learning support student, it's a strain of special education, and you have to get the fucking approval for the coursework from the special education department, but the itinerary has to be approved by a special education teacher that's not in the district ( ... )
