For some reason it has never occurred to me to look at the ingredients on my cat's food... I suppose now i have something to do when I'm in charge of buying the food for pets.

Hee. ^^ No problem. It really never occurred to me to look at my dog/cat food until I got ferrets either. They need really high protein food, and are true carnivores that can't even digest plant material. So I just started looking at all my other animals' foods when I was learning about their dietary needs.
