I JUST saw the kramer go nuts on stage for the first time and in my opinion it was blown way out of proportion. I mean yeah, he said nigger but, people have lost all ratonalism when it comes to this word. I agree the word, as far as its slave meaning, is uncalled for by anyone. But I have black friends, and we say nigger all the time... Well, the ( Read more... )

evidently you saw a very very short version of what happened...

not only did he call them "n", but said very racist things such as, "if this were 50 years ago, I'd own you and you'd have a fork up your ass"
etc...

It was all very wrong, which he apologized for.

And I don't care how many black friends a person has, you just shouldn't use that word. Neither should they. Just like we shouldn't use fag or queer.
Basically, it boils down to the fact that most people in the general population use those words in their negative connotation... and no matter how many people use them in a positive light, there will always be negative connotation for it.

I have worked in a group where I refused to let my employees use those types of words, regardless if they are black, gay, jewish, asian, whatever... If they used them, whether positive or negative, they got written up and eventually fired.

I have one black friend. He and I always talk about our own races and hate on each others. I think it's a silver lining we have for being a minority and having each other as friends. We know the other doesn't mean it, and yet, we know the other is really telling the truth because we see it when going back to our own families and friends, which makes it funnier to ourselves. I don't think I'd be able to do that with a white friend.

Regardless, I'm comfortable with what people say, and if they meant it, they can kiss my culo. Ai!
