those 300 men were brave enough because they were fighting for their lovers...
a great majority of the 300 were in homosexual relationships within that same group, and as such, were fighting for their lovers lives...
that definitely helps some.

I had heard that but it was kind of unsaid in the movie... If you ask me, if you can geta group of 300 men together with 6packs, i can assure you the majority of them are gay... Have you ever read (if i am associating the title to the story) shit... no i don't know which book it was, but in it a soldier is gay in the army during the first world war and he is in love with one of the guys in his troops... the book was great but i had to read it for school so you always forget those books:P
