I've finally started taking pictures! Usually I'd use facebook and extract the links but that method isn't very fast and clearly not feasible with the GFW in place. What photosharing/hosting should I use instead

flickr is better for batch editing and the commenting/community spice of life. I find it to be a little much, even as far as social networks go. However, it does offer video uploading whereas imgur does not.
imgur is a pretty minimalist non-profit site and was created directly in response to the overkill of other image hosting based sites. You just upload things and forget about them. It's like photobucket before photobucket got a hundred thousand ads and reduced the size/quality of some photos.
Both of them have pros and cons but they're likely the two best options for you.
