I've decided to move back to Florida. I'm going to wait until I apply to law school in the Fall. I was going to move back sooner but my dad talked me out of it. So if you want to come visit me in SD, do it. I pushed the LSAT off until October. There's no reason for me to rush to take it and I just felt like I wasn't ready yet. Texas at Austin has ( Read more... )

I didn't want to share this in the law students forum because there are just way too many over achievers in there! I graduated with a 3.2 and a 156 LSAT, and I took the damn thing twice and got the same score. Though the second time the power went out 3 times during the first two secions! I'm not sure in reality how much you can change your score if you study and put the effort forth the first time. Granted I partied alot in college, rarely went to class, and was involved in alot of other things. I was AFROTC, so all I had to do was keep a 2.5 GPA. It's not my excuse, but my reason. I didn't put the effort forth, but that's not to say I couldn't. Good luck with your goals.

I think your GPA is pretty good. I had just under a 3.2 when I graduated. My major was pretty difficult though (computer science) but I still think a 3.2 in any major is pretty good. I'm hoping that I can score over 160 on the real test. I can pretty much get the answer to almost all of the questions on the LSAT but the time is what screws me up. Anyways, you shouldn't be upset, you got into a good school and honestly, unless you go to a top 10, school really only matters for the first couple years out. My dad is a lawyer and went to a tier 3 school and he knows the president of the FL Bar and that guy went to the same school as him. That pretty much tells me that the school isn't as big of a factor in the long run. Sorry to hear that you didn't get your first pick though. Good luck to ya...
