My grandfather passed 2 years ago, come this August. This may be pretentious, but I DO know exactly how you feel. I'm posting this to let you know that as harsh as it seems, the good times are over. All that's left for you to do now is let him know that you still and will always care. It might even be a good idea to read him the entry you wrote about him. I'll never ever forget when he was in the hospital on his deathbed, and my brother and I went to see him. The nurses and doctors told us we had to leave, because he was getting too excited, and was in danger. That was the last time I saw him living. Be strong, as hard as that might sound, your grandfather doesn't seem like the type of person to want to see you in pain.
i lost my grandpa when i was in 6th grade. He was the man that always made feel beautiful and special. He had 23 grandchildren yet always made me feel the most important. I remember the last time i saw him in the hospital with my brother. They told us not to cry becuase we might upset him, yet we had to watch the only male father figure left in our life dying before our eyes. It was one of the hardest times in my life, and i know what your going through. I agree, you should share what you wrote, let him know how important he is to you. You realize its not easy and it wont be, but dont let yourself give up. Reading what you write is helping me and i just hope that i can do the same.
