its a date where, as an example the day a girl and a guy start dating... and then like 4 months later, on that same day it would be their 4 month anniversary.

Monthly anniversary are countdowns, yearly ones are special. I never celebrate monthly anniversaries, mainly just cause I think it's pretty stupid to...
