BTW: long story short (so, I am not even gonna start it) and getting life back to a more even keel, I've added you back to my flist after a VERY long absence. I had to leave many of my past friends to grasp my sanity back.

I like the link, thank you.
I am more than happy to see you back. I wasn't sure if I had done something wrong but I have been reading your funny insights in the public domain.
Alot has happened since you last saw me so I don't know if you read my back journal. I gave up alcohol and drugs, they started causing far too many problems and I lost myself along the way and became the person I did not want to be!

To be very honest and blunt:
The alcohol and drugs are the reasons for my departure. I had to step away from many MANY people. You didnt do anything to harm me personally - it's just a choice I had to make for me. It has been a long and painful learning phase these past few years.
I saw you commenting on Juni's journal and found out that you are taking the steps. SO AM I! Only, I'm in AlAnon - new baby to it. Started last year, left after a month or so then started back up once again just before Thanksgiving. This time, I have a sponsor and I have changed groups. It's MUCH better for me now.
Funny, you are about to move away and here I come back to be friends again and you live nearby - I think (I'm in Ft Worth now). *sigh* That's just the way things go sometimes.

Yes I have rekindled friendships with others who have left over the drugs and alcohol. I didn't realize how bad I had gotten til it was too late. It was amazing to see that my life was structured around it in that it affected who I would hang out with and where I would go.
I am working the steps and have a sponsor in NA. I live in Hurst and attend Another Chance (which is in Hurst). I also occasionally go to the 24 hour group in Ft Worth. Glad to hear that you are giving it another go. This is my first time and I am in my eleventh month!
Perhaps we can get together before I ship out. If not you are welcome to visit in L.I. (which seems to be a popular idea!)
