well it is now four hours into 2005 and i am at my home group ready to start a meeting if anyone needs one. we hold marathon meetings around the holidays. right now there are three of us here...myself and two 17 year olds who are only herebecause they are living on the streets. they don't think they are addicts and i can't decide that for them ( Read more... )

My sponsor tells me that the secret to this program is helping other alcoholics (addicts, if you wish). Only by unselfishly helping others can we selfishly help ourselves. We don't do it for others, we do it for ourselves but others benefit as well. Does that make sense? Also he tells me we have to give it away to keep it, we have to surrender to win. Paradoxes yes, but the truth. I need to do more to help others. Bless you for doing it. Your example is helping me.
