Life Across the Atlantic, Wales, Weirdos and Experiences

Feb 04, 2006 12:55

Life has been great on the other side of the Atlantic. Before I came over, I was very concerned with what I believed was a growing worldwide resentment of Americans. I thought I would get quite a lot of attitude from the British being one of those "weirdos" from California that somehow was to blame for the world's problems. Though, I am sure I ( Read more... )

I have just a few things to say.... First off, people in Castles should not throw rocks, and they really should have private facilities in the grounds somewhere just so you don't have to rush a 7 year old down some slippery steps and let him talk loudly when there are people around. By gods, that boy is trouble sometimes!

I've made up a song for you too. Uh hu hummmmmm
"How many genes does a retartd have?
How many genes does a retartd have?
How many genes does a retartd haaaavvvvveeee?
I guess we better calculateeeeeeeeee!"

I love you fella. Things are so perfect with you here. I am glad you are enjoying the views so far and just remember, there's plenty more to see. Gotta finnish off the Holocaust exhibit soon.xxx

After that asswhoopin, I'm switching my allegiance to Ireland. Go you ginger right bastards!

That is just what I needed; another crappy team to scream at on the tube. I have the Rockets to deal with this year. Wasn't that enough?

I was worried someone was going to steal our flag from outside, but after that embarrassing defeat I think it is safe. Told you any game is cursed if I watch it, so by that, I warn you now, Seattle will lose tomorrow!

BTW, thanks for killing that mother fucker for me....if you can. I hate that fucking game. Can ya get my body back for me too, my love?

You were right. Can you please list all the numbers you don't think have a chance to win the lottery and hope with all your might for the winning numbers? (may take you a while)

It went to hell when I left.

I found it best to diversify my friendship groups. If the intelligent crazy bunch ever got out of control, I could just bring in my really stupid crew to whip their ass. If the really stupid crew ever became a danger, I would have the intelligent loonies there to trick them with a beer can on the end of a fishing line.

Perhaps you are too emotionally wrapped up in your opinions and/or knowledge. Try not to be really defensive (or offensive) during debates. I can remember a few conversations where we were both guilty of such. Perhaps they are just loons and I'm totally off base here though.

Can I exhale?

Good to see you are alive as well.

Friends are for wimps anyway. (coming from a person with only one friend in the UK so far)

The coffee shop sounds promising for you. You may want to try bookstores, lectures and seminars as well. You can find quite a few free lectures and seminars at UCI, which shouldn't be too far from you. They usually have treats after most of them, so it could be a chance to socialize with some decent people.

Do you have a vehicle yet?

Ahh. Thank you so much. We will have a wonderful weekend if you heal up. Chicken is not a dish best served cold (or at room temperature).

Happy Valentine's Day (Beta Version)

Before I came over, I was very concerned with what I believed was a growing worldwide resentment of Americans.

I've wondered about this. Glad to hear there are at least SOME places in the world where we (at least as individuals) aren't universally hated. Hope you're portraying an excellent example of the rest of us.

Yes, it was a great relief to find that out. I wouldn't venture into Syria or anything like that just yet, but at least those that I have run into in Wales and England seem to be less resentful of US citizens than I had anticipated. I may be venturing into France in the next couple of months, so that may be another story.

I'm trying to behave. Part of what keeps me in line is the slight less freedom here. I didn't even really think about it before, but with the extensive use of CCTV everywhere you walk, you feel a lot less daring. I'm scared to even throw a cigarette bud on the ground, which I believe could be a good result.
