LA weather is so boring! Every single day: sunny, high in the 70s, low in the 60s. The only clouds I ever see are from smog and the marine layer. BORING!! Then again, I'm not really in the mood to go through a Category 4 hurricane, so I think I can cope with the boredom. Disneyland rocked, of course. I ended up riding Space Mountain 3 times and each time was better than before. The new one at Disneyland has cars that are 2 across, a lifthill surrounded by a tunnel that evokes the illusion of zero g very convincingly and the rest of the ride is pitch black except for the stars floating around and the music ( Read more... )

Disneyland tomorrow!! Citywalk tonight!! And Space Mountain should be open so I'll get to ride that hopefully. (For those who don't know it's been closed for two years and they just opened it up yesterday with the official opening on July 15). Well, I've now been in LA for over a week. So far at work I've been doing actual work in the morning and basically reading research/sitting at the computer/emailing other Sharpies in the afternoon. After work the fun continues. Usually after I get back to Cal State I go and check email, have some dinner, then do whatever we're doing in the ( Read more... )

Well, I'm in LA now. The flight in went very smoothly with clear skies the whole way and no delays. Sunday was spent unpacking and meeting the other Sharpies (they're a fun bunch). Monday was campus orientation day, so we sat through some presentations and toured the campus and filled out more paperwork. Also got my SAT II scores, with which I' ( Read more... )

I have confirmed information on the identities of our new M/S Chair and AP Bio Teacher from a letter I received in the mail today and that y'all should also receive today or tomorrow.
