Anarchy Online

I was intrigued by this recent Anarchy Online offer. They give out their basic version of the game for free, and you can have an account for a year for free as well. Sounds great, no? I knew AO was a bit dated, and was actually counting on this to guarantee that performance would be decent. After 36 hours waiting on the bittorrent link, you know,

a little off topic, but bittorrent requires you to have open ports. if you are behind a router you need to manually open them, if you use a firewall you will need to configure it to allow bittorrent to use those port. also make sure you uPnP mode (found in settings) is set to fast.

i used to get cripplingly slow bittorrent speeds till i did this..

Hmm interesting. unfortunetly my router only has a limited number of port settings and I've used them all to get UT2004 working.

well, you can use ports for more than 1 program, just means that while you are playin UT2004 you cant use bittorrent. though you have to tell bittorrent what port range to use.

yeah, that's the problem is that I can't set any more 'this port for such and such' in the routers. It's kinda annoying, but the router's been flawless other than that so, it's a tradeoff I guess.

i dled AO over the bittorrent for like 4 hours...and i played about 4 hours worth of game...i dunno if ill delete it yet i mean it was kinda...yeah okay it was horrible. I played AO like 2 years ago and whereever the hell i started off it was awesome and i got into it and made a lot of friends but it was before any expansions so apparently once they did that they redid the enviornment and just blech.
