Ooh, you know what...I did a lot of research over the weekend and unfortunately Orange County doesn't have a wide array of quilting stores, just a bunch of Joanns and such. I did find one called the Quilting Bee. I love ladies who quilt...they were all so freakin nice and were more then helpful with helping me out. If I want to shop around, I'd have to drive to LA...not a problem, I'll just have to plan that out as a day trip. If you hear of any Orange County or LA Quilting shops...please let me know :)

Oh, question..what kind of sewing machine do ou recommend for a novice? I've been looking on Craigslist, so I don't mind purchasing a used model to learn on, but would just like to know what would be best to start out with.

isn't it weird how we pick up odd hobbies as we get older, ones we don't expect to ever get into? i have been slowly getting interested in lawn maintenance and landscaping (my own lawn, that is, not as a profession). its just so damn hot in houston, though! i may not pursue it. lol

i knowwwwwwwwww! Chris, I loveeee working outside, in fact Erich and I built a red wood above ground planter a few months ago. Being outdoors and being creative with your yard is so gratifying. Can you believe it? What the older generation had said for years...that yard work is gratifying in itself...is actually becoming a reality for us! lol

Landscaping is a fantastic art and to watch your hardwork grow and transform your yard is awesome...what have you done so far? You should post pictures!
