I want my reflux gone, I want my asthma gone, I wanna be able to sleep comfortably with the window closed and pajamas on, I wanna be able to keep up with everyone on the unispan, I wanna be able to make it up the stairs to my room if I have to without almost dying, I wanna not get scared every time I check my heart rate after running, and I wanna ( Read more... )

It's really not worth taking the stairs down. I've actually been walking sets of stairs in the building as a workout over break because they're renovating the rec center. Walking down stairs is not really constructive as a workout and it's a lot of additional stress on your knees and ankles. I'm not trying to discourage you from being more active, I'm trying to do that myself, just trying to share my own insight on the matter.

It's still a bit extra activity, and its more a psychological technique to get me to not take the elevator all the damn time.

ummm well do some crunches either when you wake up or before you go to sleep. dont go for a lot just do them nice and slow and correct, go for form over speed, is much more effective. i can also tell you some actuall exercises... im trying to do the same stuff too actually.
but how can you give up pizza man?! i know i cant... just only have like once every week or so. .. oh and clean your room. cleaning is actually very good exercise (no joke)... well have fun. =)

I shouldnt have pizza anyway - tomato sauce fucks with my esophagus - tomatoes are HEAVILY acidic.

Here are my two cents. As for the reflux, I suffer from the same problem. I find that if you eat a piece of licorice (I know, it's nasty but it works) the refulx goes away within 5 minutes. Also, this is going to sound strange too, but a good homoeopathic remedy is to swallow a teaspoon or two of apple cider vinegar. Stuff work minor miracles.

If I were you I would look into either accupuncture and organic food. My aunt has sever allergies and asthma and she found that eating more organic food got rid of most of her allergies and her asthma got much better.

As for the eating/dieting/exercise part...yoga is amazing as a workout for you body; you'll stretch, thin out, and feel much better. It also has many homeopathic benefits. If I can be of any further use give me a hollar and I'll tell you all I can.

my uncle used to do the vinegar thing, I'll look into it. As far as organic food goes, I enjoy it but its so expensive...

Also, according to my doctors, my asthma may be directly linked to my reflux, and my reflux may be linked to my weight - it might not completely go away if i'm in better shape, but hell, it'll be better!

I'll look into yoga, but I'm not entirely sure - i'm not flexible at ALL. Maybe I'll combine that with swimming.

I'll certainly watch your ass on this. >D

Stretches = good. Yogurt will become your best friend. And it comes in a zillion different flavors. (It's yuuuuummy.)

I've lost 20 pounts since October and I'm keeping it off by staying active. I don't sit around on games or the computer as much. I get up and do stuff, even if it's small stuff like cleaning my room.

As for being attractive, it has a lot to do with self-esteem. If you feel good about yourself, you'll be more attractive. Who wants to hang around someone who's all like "Woe is me."? Get better, feel better, be better. ^_^ Good luck! I'm rootin' for ya!
