I've decided to avoid those until they're all done or he dies and someone else finishes them for him.

I'm not sure I shouldn't have done the same thing. I'm almost done with book five, and yet book six isn't out yet.

Is it something someone who doesn't normally like fantasy can enjoy? I watched the pilot when it first aired because I'm in love with Peter Dinklage and I just couldn't get into the show. But everyone loves it so I'm going to give it another chance. I was thinking of reading the book first. The books are big. I have them for my kindle and I was thinking of reading the first one after I finish re-reading the Hunger Games trilogy before the movie comes out.

there's a lot of sword, not so much sorcery. I don't know if that helps or not. I think the books are pretty good, especially the early ones. He outdoes Wheadon on the Wheadonesqe killing of beloved characters.

Hmmm. I'm going to try the first one once I finish these Hunger Games books (which should be Thursday probably, maybe Friday) and see if I can get into it. The books are super popular and maybe if I like the books I'll like the show better and I can watch my super sexy imaginary boyfriend Peter Dinklage and not be bored to tears by the rest of the show.
