Sadness. Like a rollercoaster.

The NHL canceled its season. I am saddened. I was keeping out some glimmer of hope that the two sides wouldn't be stupid and completely alienate any fans the league has left. I was wrong.

i know, i know. we should go to a chicago wolves game--they're really fun and not at all conceited like the NHL sometimes appears.

i also worry about the popularity of the NHL. why don't people love hockey? it's frickin' awesome!!!!

Ugh. Friggin' morons, all of them. Of course, I'll watch when it comes back, just because I love the sport, but this is really sad. The Stanley Cup playoffs are the greatest sporting event on the planet ( ... )

They really did give you some hope at the end that they were moving toward a solution. The fact that it took that long was ridiculous. I do love playoff hockey, and for drama OT playoff hockey has few equals in all of sports. The other thing that sucks is how many NHL greats are probably never going to play again. I hope these jerks figure it out eventually.

I never thought they would resume the season. I guess I was more pessimistic than most, but I would rather have a full season than a half-ass one with the half the players gone. Hopefully next year we can watch the Wild win the Stanley Cup, but until then, there's still a chance that the Russians might beat the Americans unless Herb Brooks does something fast, so I vote we watch Miracle over and over.
