Call for writers: Series 4 and 3/4

For so many of us, the adventures had between the Tenth Doctor and his companion Donna Noble are among the most dear in our fan hearts. When thinking back on series four, I've always felt like there could be so much more story told before their song ends, specifically after the events that happened in the Library and before they land on the planet ( Read more... )

It will be normal prose-story form. No scripting, so no worries.

It is expected that everything will comply with New Who, and if it also complies with Classic Who, that will be optimum and a bonus. We realize that many in the fandom aren't exactly aware of what is and isn't canon for Classic Who. So I think we'll just have a couple of people on staff to read over things and make sure that there's nothing that is like heresy against the Classic Who. (And, relatively speaking, if people are adhering to New Who, they're probably going to be pretty in line with Classic as well.)

Great questions! Thanks for bringing them up!

I'm interested as well. Questions though. 5k is the limit or the minimum? And there's no way to find out the "Bad Wolf" type theme before we write to make seeding the fic with the references more organic to the fic?

Thanks!

5k is the minimum. We wanted to let authors know that we want them to commit to something substantial, but still wanted to keep it at something that wouldn't be a burden. There is no maximum, though.

As to giving information about the theme to all the authors beforehand, we may be able to give some preliminary information, but the finale episode isn't due until the time that all the other stories are due, so that will be somewhat difficult. We only have a very small bit of structure set for it at this point. And we also don't want every author to feel like they *have* to include something to tie it to the finale because we realize it might be a stretch depending on the direction all of our authors go in.
