place vs community on waikiki

First leg of the trip to Hawaii was on Oahu. Staying in a hotel off Waikiki. Did the trips to see the Arizona and the Missouri. Went to snorkel in Hanuama Bay. I think I enjoyed these a little more than Griffin, though the part that was a bit of a pain was the length of time we spent on the bus vs the time actually at the places. Saturday night

Glad to hear you are having a good time! I loved the Big island best, but really do feel like Im at home when I am there. Take lots of pics to show when you get back, can't wait to see! Hugs!

I enjoyed HI a whole lot in large part b'c I had fambily and a friend to show me around and help me connect w/the non-touristy stuff. Hope the Kuaui bits're grand fun.

I took a couple of friends out for ecstatic dance here in PDX today and had a GREAT time. Thx so much for suggesting it and sending the link. Hope to see you there sometime when our schedules overlap. I'm outta town for the next several Sundays...sigh...but I may well try it on a Wed eve as well. When're you back?

Kauai was a better place, much less urban.
