Was just listening to the BBC this evening on the way home and heard a story about the 30th Gay Mardi Gras taking place in Sydney, Australia. It'll be the first time that uniformed Ozzie military personnel will be taking part in the parade thanks to the liberalized attitude of the new Aussie government under Rudd. She got an award for service excellence. You have to be nominated by the staff and the staff votes. It is a pretty neat award, and especially as she is relatively new and she was nominated by 28 folks (most people are only nominated by a few.)
