Because the cool kids are doing it

Actually, because I want to supercharge my mitochondria. I just went out and bought my first cordyceps supplements yesterday, Wild Oats is having a spectacular sale on all of their vitamins and supplement-type things, for anyone who's interested. I do actually feel like I have more energy, are these things supposed to work this quickly?

I got "New Chapter brand, 1000 mg/day, with food at this point because I'm not quite ready for intermittent fasting.

Re: Good brand, but if this works for you , you may wish to switch to aloha medicinals. dwimmerlaik June 19 2007, 21:58:11 UTC
Thanks! I try to take my big vitamin cocktail after eating foods with some fat/oil, otherwise I get sick, and some of the vitamins require fat to go down.

I'll try just the cordyceps on an empty stomach sometime soon. So far what I've felt is a very, very mild "high" similar to diet pills without any of the paranoia, excitiability or dry mouth. I dunno of that's due to the cordyceps or me imagining things.

Hmm, would that make the endoplamic reticulum like the lifeguard?

If any herbal supplement can give superpowers, it'd be this stuff, except maybe that South American black widow venom that apparently grants men the power of Super Boners.

If I turn into a giant, hyperactive fungus, I'll post pictures ;)

Hee hee, I will be strong in the Force and fulfill the Prophecy and be a whiny goth-bitch over the course of the next two movies...

Actually I'd recommend going to check out adammaker's journal, several pages back, because he's written quite a lot about the benefits of cordyceps. It's a mushroom that has proven to both boost the immune system and make mitochondria more efficient.

If it gives you more energy, I need some.

It can't be a bad thing to have more myocardial ATP! At least, I think so. ;)

I've been reading a book by Kat James, "The Truth About Beauty: Transform Your Looks and Your Life from the Inside Out". She talks about working at the cellular level to improve one's health, beauty being a side benefit of great health.
