This and the previous installment is making me so happy, in a very wibblesome way. Also, god, this is the second evil cliffhanger in a row! Not fair.
All around him rage the flames and the screaming, and the Doctor stares at his blaster, absorbing this knowledge. He feels nothing so much as a great relief, and this time Donna isn't here to save him.
That's so horrible and beautiful, I can't even say.
I don't have any words either, except words like "amazing" and "wonderful" and "I suppose it's too late to work in Donna's husband from the SitL/FotD serial" and "wow, fixed point is right".
Of course I refused to believe that the Master would just abandon the Doctor in his hour of need and all, so YAY for the penultimate sentence! You've restored my faith in, um, Gallifrey-kind!
there are far too many 'ands' and italics in this comment.signifiersJuly 20 2008, 05:02:03 UTC
So today I a) watched Genesis of the Daleks; b) saw The Dark Knight; and c) watched Act III of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog - and I must say that despite all that watching, reading THIS has been the most intense experience I've had today. (Well, I don't get out much.) (It's also the least likely to cause wank, which is always a good thing.) Which is to say, this is superb. And it leaves me terrified for tomorrow night, but in a very good way.
The description of Gallifrey and the Doctor's taste of smoke is stunning. And the paradoxes, and people who know him terribly well almost made me cry. As did Jenny, who looks like he did once and her innate tactical sense. "It was nice, wasn't it, being young?" is lovely as well - I've just been rewatching City of Death and Shada and oh, for happier times! Finally, THE DAISY.
