how common is it for Norwegians to speak English?

Pretty common actually, we all learn it in school from 4th grade up to 12th grade. There are many not-so-fluent Norwegians too though, depends on how much they actually use the language. Most Norwegians do understand English even though they speak and write it badly.

I have to use it at work every day, plus I generally watch movies with English subtitles and I write a lot in English. I also went to an English foundation course and an extension of the foundation course for 1,5 years when I was in college. I've always had an interest for languages. :-)
