Snape/Hermione fanfic recommendations.

Jan 17, 2005 20:16

A little while ago, vampiresetsuna requested that I gave her some Snape/Hermione fanfiction recommendations, and here they are. It's a long list of recommendations, which I have taken from the Snape/Hermione threads at White Flag; I compiled all the recs that I and my other fellow SS/HG 'shippers at the board had given over time ( Read more... )

I know another two fics that are truly brilliant, and should be recommended. Leyna Rountree's fics The Twenty and The Burden of Sight on fanfiction.net. However, there are so many great SS/HG fics that it's hard to choose even a few to be called greatest that are outside of the ones that everybody knows.
A lot of great fics are on the Master Link List. http://www.twilightsorcery.net/hp/link_list.php

Thank you very much for the tip! I'll definitely take a look at the fics you mentioned, as I was starving for a good-quality SS/HG fics that I hadn't read already. ^__~

You should also try then, some of my favorites on my fanfiction.net profile. It's saturngurl123 under a search as having a CSI story.

WoW~!! ::fluffs:: I think i've read, maybe six off of this list? This is a perfect way to spend the evening~! *eg* I feel special, that you'd put together such a long list, just because I asked for some recs~! <3

*grin* Awwww! ^__~ I just had too much time on my hands, that's all. :P

If you like Buffy/Giles from "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer", I'll be glad to come up with a fanfic rec list for that as well - though I can tell you now that it won't be as long as my SS/HG fic rec list. ^__~ I haven't read a Buffy/Giles fic since the show ended (though that doesn't mean I don't love the pairing anymore - I still do and always will), though I can still remember some of the must-read classics. :)

Oh, once you've gotten about halfway through my SS/HG fanfic rec list, do let me know which ones have become your new favourites. I'm curious about that. ;)

Aww~! Hehe~! I've read the first one off of this list already, you've got some good fics listed~! ::squee:: And, finding good Buffy/Giles fics has proven difficult, so will definately let you know, if you really don't mind putting together a list sometime in the future~! =P What's your favorite pairing, overall? I'll write you a fic in gift~! (Do have a story-type preference? Or i'll make you an icon or banner, if you'd rather~!)

Actually, finding good-quality B/G fics is not that hard at all. :) Buffygiles.com and Dword's List are the major sources of good B/G fics. In the past, the archive at "The New Buffy/Giles Relationshippers" used to be the place for B/G fics (the archive at "Destiny Awaits" as well), but it was taken down many years ago. :( Gladly, the webmaster of Buffygiles.com took over the archive and planted it on her site ( ... )

Wow I love you for it!!!=)) I was only recently wondering what SS/HG fics to read and all I needed was a recomendation - and here I see that I have read only about a half of these (but I have read Roman Holiday and the other 2 - and they are enormous!). And special thanks for the links. Perfect, now I have enough reading material for the holidays=))))

There is one fic, which is not in this list and which I've been looking for recently. Do you know the fic Pygmalion? I read it like a year or 2 ago and I wanted to re-read it, but somehow I can't find it in the Web. All links lead to ff.net, but the author has moved from there. Do you know it and if you do, do you know where one could find it?

Heee! I feel loved! :D :P

I have not read "Roman Holiday" and its sequels yet - as you already rightfully put it, those stories are enormous. My friends over at White Flag have been raving about the series every since early last year, so I know it's a good-quality fanfiction series. I just haven't got enough time to start reading such enormous fics. Perhaps I will in the upcoming carnival holidays. Who knows. ^__ ( ... )

=)))) You are loved=)

Yes, that trilogy is very good quality, I liked it a lot, though it is very complicated, sometimes controvercial and there are many pairings. However, I'm very pleased with how it has developed up to the point it is in now. It's a pity it is updated very rarely. And I really want to re-read it as there are many things I don't remember, but I just don't have the courage to do it again, because, like you, I don't have time (didn't, anyway, now I have holidays) and I get hooked once I start reading and nothing can stop me. I remember that with this particular trilogy I once spent a whole night reading, I went to sleep only at 2 o'clock in the afternoon as I felt that I could'n do it anymore=)))

Wow, thank you for the tip, very useful=))) And special thanks for Pygmalion - I didn't even look there (though I know the site, but go there but rarely). I'm very greatful - you have saved me a lot of trouble=))))

My record is going to bed at 4 o'clock in the morning after reading fanfiction and haunting the White Flag message board. *blush* ^__~

Anyway, you're quite welcome. :D

Apart from "Ex Libris" by Strega Brava, I don't know the stories you mentioned. I'm really glad you mentioned them (I was starving for some SS/HG fics that I hadn't read yet) - I'll read them this week! Thank you! :D

Hayseed sounds very familiar - I've seen her name often enough when browsing Dark Sarcasm or Ashwinder. I never read anything of her work, though. I never read "Getting The Hang Of Thursdays", because I read it's based on "Groundhog Day" and I never liked that film. But perhaps I should give it a try, if you really deem it a very good story. :)

And you're welcome, btw. :) There would've been more stories on my list, had it not been for the dead links here and there - "A Matter of Honour" by Amy McWilliams is an example, it used to be on "The Dungeon - A Snape Fic Archive," but I find that archive is not available anymore. Or at least, right now. :(

I really would recommend that you read "Getting the Hang of Thursdays"--it is very well-written, and the character development is more than good. The physics of it is also interesting. :)
