i have to declare a major very soon. i have no idea what to do. i have one more class and then i will have minored in women's studies. but as for majors, i am lost. so, choose two majors for me and there is a good chance i will declare them.

Hi Lindsay, it's Thu!

As an English major, I have to suggest... English.

(PS - Did you want to go with me to the YYY's show?)

hey girl! so have you enjoyed majoring in English? And ya, I'd really like to go to YYYs that night- my boyfriend will be visiting then, so it would be fun to go. $15, right? Where can I buy tix?

Just do a search for the YYYs. They're playing at Neumo's.

I definitely love my department, although I've been sticking to English lit in particular, and other than the survey course, and my sr seminar right now, I haven't taken a class for lit after 1900. I took the Satire class last semester, but that was kind of a survey too.

You can do mostly lit, or mostly creative writing, it's up to you, but the senior thesis is for lit only. A word to the wise: some people really like John Callahan, and some people REALLY don't. I haven't had a class from him because I was warned away.

Even if you're not sure, I would recommend taking English 205 and 206 (the required survey courses) so you get a broad sweep of English lit from medieval to modernist. As far as professors go, I recommend Lyell Asher (who is awesome, but SO TOUGH), Kurt Fosso (my advisor, and also very awesome, mainly because he's funny and slightly naughty), and Rishona Zimring (who is very intelligent and very eloquent).
