How could hell only be the absence of God when the bible is so descriptive about it? Example: Lake of fire. Flesh eating worms. (By the way I don't think hell is a place on earth or whatever, or even in our universe. I think it's actually in some kind of alternate demension. Heaven too.)
By saying Hell is the absence of God are we saying that there is a place where God does not exist?
If God couldn't look on Jesus because of his sin, then how could he stand to look on a fallen world? "

I don't think that God literally forsook Christ on the cross, but I'm not sure. I'll have to do more research on it.
