Meet The Heroes

Feb 25, 2007 11:21

Well, yesterday was the first quest of the new campaign. And, as promised, I'm going to try to post a "story hour" of the events of that quest. However, before I do, I thought it would be best to introduce the player characters.

Angus is a mighty berserker from the Blackoak tribe. He is courageous and good of spirit (and speaks entirely in a Scottish accent), and is always looking to test his mettle against his fellow warriors. He is far older than the rest of the heroes, having wandered the Hundred Kingdoms for over two decades before the campaign begins. His favored fighting style is with two battle axes.

Daeron is a famous gladiator from the distant Island of Ganjos along the Dark Coast. He is outspoken and strong-willed (and speaks entirely in a Jamaican accent), and has never been bested in the arena. His fame has spread even into the heart of the Hundred Kingdoms, so far away from his homeland, where crowds come to see his fighting prowess. His favored fighting style is with a falchion and maneuvers from the Stone Dragon discipline of the Sublime Way.

Everritt is the personal political scholar and aide to the king of the City of the Golden Bough, the largest city in the North. He is articulate and intelligent, as well as extremely politically savvy. Due to his allegiance with the king, he has the respect and consideration of the governments of the North. In addition to being extremely learned in the histories and laws of the Hundred Kingdoms, Everritt dabbles in the arts of thaumaturgy.

Mialee is a soft spoken elf from the Green Dales. She rarely speaks about herself and so little is know about her homeland or her past. But she is very skilled with the bow and moves as silently as a summer breeze.

Orchid is a severely addled elf sorceress and shapeshifter, who can’t remember her real name, where she comes from, or where she is going. However, she does remember that something terrible happened to her and her love, and that she must find him to rescue him or kill him (depending upon what happened). Her crazed demeanor masks a tremendous magical power, which only can manifest when she manages (with great effort) to pull herself together again.

Manson comes from the decadent and corrupted Grand Empire of Vermilion, the last remnant of the nation that once ruled the entire Hundred Kingdoms. Like many people from his country, he is selfish and inconsiderate, which shows in his chosen profession: he binds the spirits of demons onto his own soul in exchange for their power.

Sintaxzan is a warforged who was crafted to be an expert in the arts of skulduggery and subterfuge, and has sold his services to whoever will pay once his original contract ended.

There is one other player character in the mix, but her player wasn’t able to make it this week, so she hasn’t been introduced into the story yet. I’ll describe her next week.
