After stargrrlgeiger's note regarding why she's leaving and another longterm member leaving recently because he wasn't sure how he felt about being trans-identified in a place identified as a "woman's space," I'm here to ask: What do you guys think about the inclusiveness of dyke_riot?* Do we work hard enough to be inclusive

I'm going to have to agree with Lindsay, thegirlpolice. The bottom line is that I don't think we are quite sure what we're standing for as a communtity right now. I've always loved this place because we are a community of woman who love woman. If we want to be all inclusive, then quite honestly, we are entering a much larger field of play. There are tons of communities on livejournal that are incredibly inclusive, as well as aimed towards a far more general audience. I like the idea that we are a DYKE RIOT, that we are the dykes of the world coming together in strength & unity, like we have over all these years

I'm petrified our beautiful little community is going to turn into this... politically correct, soft spoken place. I've always loved how outspoken & outrageous we are all. I get the feeling you & I may be in the minority here, Lindsay.

I'm sitting in a hostel after spending the first of two days at a transgender inclusive, womens-only feminist conference.... and I'm flabbergasted by some of the responses here.... I think I'll just write a post when I get home tomorrow or monday. Ack.
