So I've realized that I really omg should get a Japanese driver's license since I'm planning on living here for years, and since my international license expires when I go home in 3 weeks, I need to get on that, like, now. Good luck! Just so you know, you might end up having to take the course anyway. Everyone I know here that drives was unable to pass the tests until they went to school--I mean, they tried, but kept failing. The school apparently helps a LOT.

Not to scare you or anything, but just because I know a lot of people that went through a lot of stress over this. Then again, your Japanese is much better than most people I know, so you might have an easier time with it. Again, good luck!

If I have to take the course, I have to take the course. But I'd rather try it first and fail than have to pay $3K if I don't need it. Not to mention I'm not going to *have* a spare $3K for a good 4-5 years and it'd be nice to have a license before that.
