So..I woke up this morning to see my mum off, since she was having surgery today in Calgary. It was about....6:30 am. I look outside..and notice...either I've gone insane..or the creek has moved 200 yards closer to our house and doubled in size. Exactly one year ago today, the dream ended. The Calgary flames lost the Stanley Cup finals in 7 games to the Tampa Bay Lightning. One more year of no Canadian champion, one more year of "almosts" for Canadian teams. We laughed, we cheered, we cried thoughout the run, and the regular season. I remember this day quite well. Heh. Apparently on Friday it was International Hug a Cat day. *sniff* My cat is now skulking behind the cupboards, and she occasionally pokes her head out from behind them to be stroked.
