A festival which celebrates the fiendish and morbid... I cannot understand the reasoning behind such a celebration. I have seen my fill of fiends, both in this world and mine. Perhaps I should think of it simply... as a rare opportunity for the children to enjoy themselves, as Nani identified. Such times are, after all, a rare treasure in such an ( Read more... )

Ah, it is simply a little fun. Deep down, I've found kids and adults alike enjoy being scared in a safe environment, just to experience the feeling.

Hmm... I can't say I've ever found enjoyment in fear. Then again, none of the environments I were in whilst afraid were remotely safe.

I am interested to learn more. Thank you, for the insight.

I am doubtful that being nude would be appropriate. Not in this cold weather. Not for humes.

...

I simply meant to express my dislike for the 'costume' intended for my wear.

I was not serious, believe me. The day I parade around Discedo, naked, will never, ever come around.

I am sure as some of our ways would be strange to others here, this is a bit odd for us. Though it seems harmless enough.

Do you plan on helping Nani with the children? I believe after that, Balthier wishes to go to this party that is happening.

Harmless, perhaps. Though it concerns me, that people will become too absorbed in the fantasy of the event and forget that the dangers of this city are all too real.

I plan on seeing they enjoy themselves, by giving all that I can toward their 'trick or treat'.

...I don't doubt it. Balthier would go to any party, anywhere. And taking you along, no doubt. I hear your costume is... novel.

If any one with a head firmly on their shoulders could forget the horrors of this world...

Aye. Then you are doing the same as I? Do you have a costume, Majesty? To wear for the children at least.

He would not be a very good pirate if he did not like to do so, would he not? From what I know he has plans to bring us both, if not Mjrn as well. If she wishes to come. Balthier seems to also have it in his head that I am to wear this... costume, as it is and to the party. What little dignity I can muster up shall not be brought back down by doing so, he shall be sorry to hear.

There is plenty, it appears, to give to the children. I certainly have no need for all the candy I have found myself in possession of. As for my... costume, the one I have been given would leave nothing to the imagination is not entirely appropriate. I shall have to come up with an alternative.

It is not his pirating skills I am worried about, Basch. Now that he has succeeded in persuading me to attend the party, it seems it will be Balthier's dancing skills I must concern myself with. I haven't danced... since my wedding to Rasler.

I have no doubt you will conduct yourself with honour, collar and leash or not.

Some humans enjoy the adrenaline rush of fear, Princess.

I enjoy testing my limits, but not fear itself. My biggest thrill comes from the company of women, naturally.

I admit, I have never viewed fear in a positive light. Still, plenty of people seem to be doing just that, don't they?

...Yes, naturally. How could I forget?

It seems like a holiday that celebrates a bit of thrill and mischief. And nothing gets the adrenaline flowing like a bit of a scare.

Sounds like my sort of holiday really. Are you going to the party tonight, Ashe?

Mischief? That would suit you, certainly. Though, turning fear into fun is a new concept to me.

I hadn't intended to... It feels wrong, somehow. But... I'll make an exception, if my absence will disappoint.

Fear can be quite fun. That's the thrill of life for you.

I would save a dance or three for you should you decide to make an appearance?

Under certain circumstances, I can see how that may be true. Time to learn for myself, then.

Hmm... In that case, I accept.
