i'm back! (i actually got back wednesday night at around 9:30.) here are some random highlights from my trip--sorry for the lack of coherency, coherency will come later, after i process the three weeks myself

beijing rocks the house. It has a new highway system with 8 lane highways, and lots of roses and flowers on the sides. and, you would like this; starbucks is as numerous as KFC...most major shopping spots have one, and I've been to all of the major shopping spots.
