FAQ

[how do journals work?]how do journals work? ◦ Think of this as a social networking site exclusive to members of DY Entertainment. Journals serve as personal blogs, whereas the main community (dyent) serves as a forum that people can post to with whatever they'd like. While we're lenient of what is posted, please be mindful.

[what kinds of positions in the entertainment industry can i apply for?]what kinds of positions in the entertainment industry can i apply for? ◦ You may apply for trainees or artistes. The various artiste professions include idols, soloists, models, actors, TV personalities, radio DJs, and other similar careers in the limelight. Positions such as managers, photographers, stylists, and so on aren't available.

[how old does my muse have to be?]how old does my muse have to be? ◦ Trainees can be any age, although the general (and very loose) age range is from 14 to 22. The minimum age for debut is 16. This is for various reasons, the main one being that the company feels very strongly about having their trainees mature and ready for the industry before putting them in it. There are few exceptions, and this is for those entering age-specific professions, such as child actors or models for teenage clothing.

Some premades have loose age guidelines. For example, the Idol Duo are considered the seniors of the company, and should be a little older.

[what are the monetary costs of being a trainee?]what are the monetary costs of being a trainee? ◦ None. Everything (housing, food, training, etc.) is covered by the company. Trainees are an investment, and it will eventually be repaid once trainees debut and hopefully become successful entertainers. However, if a trainee quits or is removed from the company, then they must pay all of their expenses.

[do trainees get to choose what type of artiste they'll be?]do trainees get to choose what type of artiste they'll be? ◦ Yes and no. People audition into being an idol/actor/etc., which is their choice, and as a trainee they continue training toward that profession. However, the company may switch a trainee into another category if deemed preferential. So while trainees have the initial say, the company keeps the last word.

This won't be much of a factor in game though, and you won't have to worry about the moderators forcing you to change your muse's artiste-type.

[how much do artistes get paid?]how much do artistes get paid? ◦ It varies on the type of artiste, how successful he/she is, and how long he/she has been working. We aren't going to be handing out specific numbers, but try to keep it realistic.
