Tilt shift in post

If you photograph a tiny model then everything other than the thing you have in focus will look out of focus*, so your eye will percieve it as tiny.

*Depending on your lens aperture. Nonetheless, it's how we 'process' pictures of small things and realise they are small. So what if you add that effect to a big thing?

I think the speeded-up video contributes significantly to the effect, too.

I was going to suggest grabbing an mp4 and using VLC to slow it down a bit, but that site's being a bit flakey this evening.

Tried adding this effect to a scene last night, turns out it's not too hard and it will feature in my current project, although sadly I don't have any footage of diggers :(
