it's 4am and my mom still is not home.. this isn't suprising but it still manages to terrify me.. just the fact that i have no way of knowing that she's safe.. she could be hurt or even dead and i wouldn't know until someone calls and tells me.. it terrifies me that it could have been my fault.. why does she do this to me

Subconcious rebellion?
I don't think she does it on purpose. But she does. The way it seems to me is that she has never had the opportunity to do what she is now. And this teaches you how she felt all those times when you didn't call, and all those times you went out with friends all hours of the night, even when she knew where you were going. It put's things into perspective, doesn't it? She didn't raise you, and now you are "not" raising her. I say break the cycle. Be a better parent than she was. I love you Josh and I know you care about your mom. This isn't something you should just let slip by, like most other things have.
