R.I.P. my work computer hard disk, the bastard! All my pictures, personal files and documents are gone, as well as (potentially) roughly 2 months of data analysis and some work related writing

hehehe, well - yeah - I just thought I'd openly admit my extreme idiosy to broad audience :)

maybe that will help me cope :) Yes - that was rather stupid.
Actually - I thought it was already set to back up, but turns out that it wasn't.

Also - the data itself is extensively backed up, and I also copy everything over to my laptop every few months or so - so work stuff is pretty much all intact. Its just the personal files I had on there that are gone - but our IT department is working on trying to recover stuff.

I guess I'm just shocked that it happened to begin with :) As well as extremely, no, EXTREMELY stupid :)))

Nu da blin!! That's what i'm saying - dells suck... Still - our IT guys insist that its just bad luck with a given hard drive.

i think there are places that can recover the data back...might be pricey though (in the hundreds of $)

i'm optimistic :)) but having a drama queen moment nonetheless!
