That potentially could have been disasterous. See, they give you vast amounts of information to absorb, but you never know what will be on the exam. They tell you what usually is on the exam, but than doesn't mean that it will be.  So you can never be too sure which areas to concentrate on more than others.  Fortunately, for the most part, they ( Read more... )

yay! a break!! finally.... now i might actually get to see you! yes?

as for the main body of your post.... i think you are normal. in fact until this very moment i thought i was the only one with that exact problem.
not just with study, but with life in general. for example, when in a deep discussion with someone and ask to elaborate an issue i try to recall from the past and not only have i forgotten, but i sometimes find it hard to express myself.
can we just go back to grunting at each other?? lol

Yay I can finally leave my apartment and see people without feeling guilty that I'm not studying!

And yes! That, too. I'll run into someone, talk to them, then I'll tell someone else "Oh, I ran into so-and-so" and they'll ask "So what did they say?" and I'll be like "Uh...." Although, when they phase the question that way, my brain wants to try and quote the person directly, as opposed to being asked "So what's new with so-and-so?"

YES!! i hate that too. and of course you feel like an idiot because you just spoke to so-and-so why can't you remember what they said!!
hahaha
i feel so much better about myself now that i know i'm not alone in this world! (i must go now and have my wrist surgically removed from my forehead!)

=P

ps - i look forward to a call for coffee or perhaps SHOPPING!!!

I guess my brain just processes stuff differently, or in a wierd way. Or am I normal?

There really isn't a "normal" kind of memory. Some people are short-term dominant, some people are long-term dominant, some are eidetic, some are just fucked. And people react differently to the same drugs, too.

If you study under the effect of stimulants (caffeine, nicotine, crystal meth, whatever) try not using them and see if things change. Conversely, if you don't, try with. Might help, might not.

One supplement that is quite likely to help your memory if your diet is low on it -- not to mention pretty much everything else about your physical and mental health -- is omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Couple tablespoons a day of that is one of the very few diet supplements that pretty much everyone should consider essential. The major flavours of that are fish oil, flax oil, and hemp oil, all of which you should be able to find at pretty much any health food store.

this makes me think of emails from my aunt.... her signature is a quote: "Everyone has a photographic memory - some people are just out of film."
