Dieter went to kitty heaven on Friday - end-stage renal failure.  He wound up in emergency on Sunday as he got very sick and growly with us, and he had a very high fever.  Monday he went back to the regular vet - another round of blood tests and an ultrasound showed that he wasn't getting better and that the kidneys were toast.  The vet told me
