Ouch... I am no lawyer, obviously, but I would march over there and demand to speak to the manager and try to get some of the money back. Marching there with a lawyer would help, I imagine. Why don't you call up one of those free consultation lawyers and see what can be done? Also, you are not the only one - check this out: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/dependable-locks-quick-locksmith-c3769.html. Make sure to read the comments - you might find them useful.
Thanks SO much for that link, Len, where did you find it? Wow, that is incredible how familiar all that sounds. Down to the fact that the dispatch guy was also Israeli (and i'm pretty sure not licensed) I didnt even know you had to be a licensed locksmith in New York state. These might very well be the same guys that are being talked about in some of these comments, the ones that operate under different numbers from a completely different location. I wouldn't be surprised if i go over there, there is no shop for them at the address provided.... And their ad in the yellow pages also said that they "beat any price". Blin, nu ya i vlipla :( I just don't get how these scammers can be all over yellow pages like that without anyone catching them, it's truly outrageous.
If i need a free consultation lawyer, do you know where would i find one? Online search turned up a lot of personal injury lawyers but no free consultation ones. I'm so paranoid at this point, i dont want the lawyer to charge me an arm and a leg for this also!
I found it via google... Go to www.naag.org to find out how to contact the office of the NY Attorney General. The Attorney General should have a division that specializes in fraudulent or deceptive business practices.
