needed a break from digital coloring, to not get completely rusty. so after a day of chores around the house, I did some sketching
first... yes, I'm joining the bandwagon of Korra lovers. this series is way too awesome to not enjoy it. Korra herself is a pure delight, being born in a water tribe but having a personality of a firebender^^; she ruthless, stubborn, temperamental and generally adorable. she's going to make a really fun protagonist. what I love about her, from an arist's point of view is that she's hella muscular! look at her shoulders! at her arms! she works out a lot and it shows.
Bolin is giving me a hard time to draw him^^; he's great. he's going to be comedic relief- type of character, but he's fantastic already. hitting on Korra the moment he sees her, not even knowing who she is^^; Mako is still a mystery to me. I'm not saying I don't like him, but I can't say if I do. he needs to show more of himself yet.
Tenzin and his lot are just PRECIOUS. he's so stoic that when he loses his temper you can't help but laugh^^; all of his kins are great too, although I can't pinpoint if I like crazy Meelo yet>< I deffinitely love Jinora^^;
lower left is for halcyonjazz, for her comic [Fox Sisters]. The comic is set in the 60s or 70s in Korea and deals with a clash of normal everyday life of modern society and antient tradition. it's getting really interesting, as we begin to know new characters and new facts about what drives other ones to do things they're doing. there's also romance blooming as we read it, and since I kind of promised Chira some fluff, here it is. Alex is really trying to impress Yun Hee, although I'm not sure if it's his singing that's going to win her over^^;
last part is a small and terrible try at designing a costume for an FMA fic, [Moonrise] yes, I still read fics for FMA. this fandom has some great ideas. it's a mix of the original universe and a fantasy setting, where both brothers are infected by a werewolf. it's a really nicely written AU and I can't wait for the author to continue
